After writing, producing and directing “Jump Offs”, a comedy romance film about different types of male players in relationships, Derrick Simmons Film Works teamed up with H3 Films, Laamking Entertainment and Up Against The Wall Productions for “Women Do It Better” the female version.

Every Player knows there’s always somebody out there that can make your significant other cheat on you..

Derrick Simmons (“Oz”, “Paid in Full”, “Paper Soldiers”) tackles 4 roles “Malik, Oops, Pastor Slim and Winston Bentley” as well as writing, producing and directing this sexy comedy romance film set in the city that never sleeps, NYC.

The production team dealt with all kinds of indie-filmmaking challenges from scheduling, locations and sound. We only shot on  weekends to avoid filming schedule conflicts. With creative scheduling and disciplined teamwork, very few things went wrong while filming the movie. The led actors were asked to voiceover their dialogue after the final shot, February 2009. The editing, sounds and original music help make this a very funny, entertaining movie to watch. Thanks to our post production team lead by Chazz Menendez, Brian M Delaney, Will Bongo, Erwin Wagner and Calente “Super Lover Cee” Frederick.

The cast of “Women Do It Better” are fairly unknown, but Derrick assembled a team of talented Actors with great chemistry.

Gano Grills (“In Too Deep”,  “Shaft”, “Hannibal”), Dionne Lockett, Gabrielle C Archer, Brandhyze Stanley Owens (“All My Children”, “Perfect Strangers”), Cynthia Santiago, Liris Crosse (“The Best Man”, “Law& Order SVU”), Rashaun “Cashus Cream” Ashley, Universal (“Booty Call”, “The Sopranos”), Courtney Charles, Jonathan Baston (“American Gangster”) and Keith Davis (“Jump Offs”).

The final cut was completed August 2009.
